Bow Wow Labs Named to List of 100 Fastest-Growing Veteran-Owned Businesses in the US
Bow Wow Labs was recently included on the Vet 100 list, a compilation of the nation’s fastest-growing veteran-owned businesses. The ranking, based on Inc. Business Media and Syracuse University’s D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF), was born out of the iconic Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies based in the United States. Both distinctions are considered hallmarks of entrepreneurial success.
Bow Wow Labs was co-founded by Michael London (U.S. Marine Corps). The company employs many veterans, including president/chief operating officer Brian O’Neil, a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine officer, and others who served in different military branches.
“There is an important similarity between my service in the Marine Corps and my experience launching innovative, disruptive companies throughout my career,” said London. “To ultimately succeed in both worlds… You have to have a great team that is all on the same page, prepared to accept pain and risk, and with a clear commitment to succeed. And the team has to be prepared to go over, under or through obstacles to reach our destination, and this is the exact type of team we have at Bow Wow Labs.”
Bow Wow Labs has led the way in pet product innovation. The company’s team of experienced entrepreneurs is responsible for the success of the products, leading the way in creating new and diverse products that specifically solve a pet parent’s problems. They made the safety device category in the pet space with their Bow Wow Buddy, which allows dogs to chew on bully sticks and other long-term chews without the inherent risk of the last inch of chew. When used with the brand’s SafeFit Bully Sticks, pet parents can have even greater comfort that each stick will fit securely every time. The Bow Wow Buddy can hold a variety of chews, including the company’s latest innovation, the Epic Chew. This new longer-term chew provides a unique chewing experience that provides mental stimulation, oral health benefits and nutrient-dense supplementation all in one. The Epic Chew is another innovation that provides supplementation in a new deliverable, interactive form.
“Economic prosperity is so important to so many aspects of American life, from home and main street to even our standing in the world,” said Scott Omelianuk, Inc. Business Media’s editor in chief.. “Given that prosperity is driven by small business, and given, we now know, the impact veteran founders have on that small business, we can only continue to recognize them and say, again, thank you for your service.”
“In almost every industry we see veteran-owned businesses excelling by applying leadership and management skills they learned from their military service and having tremendous impact in their communities,” said Dr. Mike Haynie, Syracuse University vice chancellor as well as the founder and executive director of the IVMF. “Veteran entrepreneurs are a critical component of the small business landscape.
