The Chesapeake Bay Dog Company, maker of the BAYDOG brand of canine adventure gear, recently announced it has entered into a distribution partnership with Michigan-based Frontier Distributing. BAYDOG retail partners in Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Western West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania are now able to order BAYDOG through their Frontier representative.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this collaboration,” said Barton O’Brien, BAYDOG founder and CEO.  “Frontier is the ideal partner for BAYDOG.  Our primary focus is protecting the brand – keeping it off sites like Amazon and Chewy, so we can’t rely on the national distributors. We need partners who are as committed as we are to supporting our brick-and-mortar retailers, and that’s exactly what we’ve found in Frontier.”

BAYDOG already partners with two other regional distributors, Zeigler’s in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast Pet.

“I was initially drawn to BAYDOG because of the quality,” said Anil Ganga, sales and marketing director at Frontier. “But the more we got to know them, the more impressed we were with their dedication to supporting their independent brick and mortar partners. At Frontier, we want to present our customers with new and innovative products that are both fairly priced and differentiated in the market. We think BAYDOG does just that.”

“A couple years ago we started making College Gear, and our initial offerings were all BIG10 schools.  Frontier has six of the schools we make in their territory,” added O’Brien.

BAYDOG makes officially licensed gear for 33 college teams.

“At the end of the day, business is about people, and I’ve had the privilege to meet and spend time with the team at Frontier,” said O’Brien. “They’re professional, knowledgeable, and dedicated to their customers. They’re just good people. I know they’re going to do an amazing job for BAYDOG.”
